Little did I know the rocket engine of growth hadn't even started.
An offer to buy the lodge in Alaska came along that we couldn’t refuse, and we ended up selling. We needed a place to live temporarily while we figured things out so we moved in with Katie's parents in Tennessee. This gave us a chance to think and her parents a chance to spoil their grandchildren.
Meanwhile, Groove Life was growing so fast I had to start hiring people in Tennessee to meet the demand. Within a couple of months it was evident that moving back to Alaska to run Groove was not the best choice. Katie and I rented a little house in a suburb of Nashville called Spring Hill. We ran the company out of the third bedroom.
Our search for an office led us to a deserted old high school building to rent for the new Groove Life headquarters. We decided to become an official Tennessee company, which meant we had to get all of our rings and equipment inventory shipped down from Alaska.
We flew up to Soldotna, packed it all in a container, and shipped it by boat from Anchorage to Seattle where an 18-wheeler then carried it all the way to Spring Hill. By 2018, we employed over 75 people and expanded our footprint in the old school building. Today, Groove Life employs over 180 employees, have launchded three additional product lines and we have expanded our facilities to include a 30,000 foot warehouse and fulfillment center.
The Journey 1
1992
Peter visits Alaska as a boy and plans to move in the future.

Peter moves to Alaska and becomes an adventure guide.

Groove Life® moves to Spring Hill, Tennessee.

Peter and family live in Tennessee and Groove Life employs nearly 200 people.
