ARREST MADE AFTER TAXI DRIVER WAS ‘STABBED’ DURING NOTTS ROBBERY
Police have launched an investigation after a taxi driver was reportedly stabbed in the early hours of Thursday morning 3 December. NottinghamshireLive reports that police cordoned off a street and a phone box in Stapleford following the incident in Melbourne Road. The force received reports a taxi driver had been “stabbed to his body” during a robbery just after 1am. They said cash was stolen from the victim before the suspect fled on foot. Police said that a police dog and han- dler tracked the suspect to nearby flats and entry was gained to a property where a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He remains in custody. Detective Sergeant Luke Todd, of Not- tinghamshire Police, said: “Our investigation is still in its early stages and we are working hard to understand the full circumstances of this incident. “Whilst we have already made an arrest we would still like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious and any drivers who may have recorded dash- cam footage which could help us.”

In a post on social media, Cas Cars said: “Last night serveral of our vehicles and other private vehicles were damaged by youths throwing bricks and snowballs in Airedale and Ferry Fryston. “Because of this we are considering restricting services to certain areas of Airedale and Ferry Fryston. “If you know who these kids are or if they are members of your family we implore you to make them stop before someone gets seriously injured or something worse. “We regret to say if this sort of behaviour happens again we will be left with no option but to cut off service to these areas at certain times.” Cas Cars told the Yorkshire Evening Post that authorities don’t take action “until someone is seriously injured”.
VICIOUS ATTACK ON GLASGOWDRIVER
A private hire driver has been attacked as he was doing a food delivery recently. He had parked his car and as he returned to his vehicle two cyclists started to verbally abuse him because of where he left his vehicle. However, the police had no issue with the place he had parked. One of the cyclists then viciously attacked the driver with a knuckle duster. Police are now investigating.
DRIVER ATTACK IN MIDDLESBROUGH
Police are appealing for witnesses, CCTV and dash cam footage after an assault on a taxi driver in Middles- brough. The incident happened around 4.45am on Monday 4 January on Marton Grove Road. Two men had been passengers in the taxi. As the men got out of the taxi, one proceeded to punch the driver multiple times in the head and face. Nothing was stolen in the incident. This left the victim with a split lip and ear and bruising to the head and face. The two suspects then made off from the scene.
