At the end of September, an intrepid group of Eden Team representatives ventured by coach to The Netherlands on a once-in-a-decade fact-finding opportunity.
Our primary destination was the
international horticulture exhibition Floriade Expo 2022. The Dutch drizzle was never far away so we felt quite at
home exploring everything on offer. From amazing examples of vertical planting, to giant insect hotels, hydroponic food growing, sustainability games and 3D printed buildings – we took a step into the future to seek inspiration to bring back to our UK projects.
During our trip we were also
fortunate enough to visit the Kröller- Müller Museum as well as Burgers' Zoo – the location of the first architectural
use of ETFE in 1982, the same material used for our Biomes' hexagon bubbles. At the former we were wowed by Picasso and Van Gogh, and at the latter butterflies and manatees were the stars of the show. Our group represented many
different perspectives, hailing from horticulture, interpretation, visitor services, marketing and more. We look forward to sharing with our colleagues more about our trip in early 2023 and hope to introduce some elements of the things we saw to Cornwall in the near future. Rose Cashman-Pugsley

Eden is loved up
Eden has made Newsweek’s 2022 list of top 100 most-loved workplaces. The survey took the responses of 1.4 million employees from SMEs to corporations, and aims to highlight companies that put respect, caring, and appreciation for their employees at the centre of their business model. Dawn George, Eden’s Chief People and Culture Officer, said: ‘This award is great recognition of all that we do at Eden to ensure this is a place where people love to come to work and be part of a thriving team.’ SD
