Another helping of success
The Soil Association’s Out to Lunch campaign, which rates family-friendly food offerings at visitor attractions, has awarded Eden Project the top spot for the second time. The campaign sends undercover diners to assess the quality of food being served in a range of venues, from museums to theme parks. Soil Association Head of Food Policy Rob Percival said,
‘They are doing a fantastic job with local sourcing practices, and we were delighted to see freshly cooked food and active encouragement for healthy and sustainable food choices.’ Eden scored consistently highly across all categories.
Feedback from the campaign noted that food is freshly cooked and choices are generally healthy, including vegetables with almost every meal. The secret diners also loved seeing the locally sourced items on the menu. Simon Davies

School’s in (and out)
The first day at a new school is always a memorable event – even more so when the school in question is the brand-new Sky Primary and Eden Project Nursery. The school’s first fifteen reception and six nursery pupils are currently based in Eden’s Cherry Zone, before moving to their permanent site at West Carclaze Garden Village. Not that you’ll find them there every day – from day one the school and nursery will be a base from which they will explore dedicated outdoor learning zones in Eden’s Outer Estate, as well as Cornwall’s beaches, sites of scientific interest and cultural hotspots. As headteacher Emma Vyvyan explains: ‘The curriculum at Sky Primary and Eden Project Nursery is exciting and innovative, where children will learn through active engagement with the local and global community.’ Robert Lowe
