I have been impressed by the unstinting assistance given by individual members of the General Council. We are also grateful to Westminster City Council for the way in which they have received our comments, even if in many cases they have not adopted them nor made appropriate changes!
Our endeavours have gone beyond Westminster City Council. Tere have been matters of national concern on which the Westminster view has perhaps been somewhat different from that of other parts of the country. I need only mention the Use Classes Order and Community Charges as examples where we have made representations directly to the Department of the Environment.
I am grateful to everyone for the support they have given me during my term of office. I wish my successor good fortune in furthering the aims that have been established for the Association. I trust the foundations that have been laid will prove of value to our members.”
