The OPEC Fund and Burkina Faso

The Ambassador of Burkina Faso Dieudonné Kéré paid a courtesy visit to OPEC Fund Director-General Dr Abdulhamid Alkhalifa. Discussions centered on the OPEC Fund's 44-year relationship with Burkina Faso, and Dr Alkhalifa's high-level mission to the country in 2019. There, he attended inauguration ceremonies of two OPEC Fund-supported projects – Ziniaré Hospital and University of Ouagadougou, Phase 2 – visited project sites and signed a loan agreement to boost food security and incomes. Also during this mission, Dr Alkhalifa was conferred with L’Ordre National de l’Etalon – a national honor in recognition of the OPEC Fund’s continued support. Dr Alkhalifa assured Ambassador Kéré that the institution stood ready to support Burkina Faso’s development goals during the current pandemic and beyond.
