Leslie Veloz

BECAME THE FIRST IN HER FAMILY TO ATTEND college when the Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program saw a promising future within her. Ever since, UB’s distinct approach to, well, everything has helped Leslie raise the bar on her march toward global citizenship.

“UB gave me a platform to reach my full potential by exposing me to all of the possible paths that would allow me to make an impact. Getting involved in different cultural clubs and organizations has taught me to build bridges across communities and given me the confidence to find my voice in whatever space I am in.”

So far, those spaces include serving as vice president of the Black Student Union, leading the Student Association as its first-ever Latina president, interning at Buffalo City Court and finding ways to solve educational injustices as a future lawyer and policymaker.
