Education - Primary Teaching - Gaeltacht Applicants (Froebel) Music - In first year you take one other subject from those listed under MH101, excluding groups 2 and 5. (Restricted – see page 3)


Psychology –3 years - In first year you take Psychology, Psychological Studies and one or two Arts subjects from those listed under MH101 excluding groups 2 and 6.


Social Science – In first year you study Social Policy (an essential requirement for Social Work), Sociology and one subject from: Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History or Philosophy.


Media Studies – In first year you take Media Studies and two other Arts subjects from those listed under MH101, except Group 6. Computer Science may be taken with Media Studies for students interested in Media Technologies.


Community and Youth Work (Full-Time) (Restricted – see page 3) MH 201


Science: In final year you may take a Double Major (equal study of two subjects), or a Single Major (specialise in one subject). See prospectus for availability and options. The following subjects are available: Biology; Chemistry; Computer Science*; Engineering Science; Experimental Physics; Mathematical Physics; Mathematics (Applied); Mathematics (Pure); Statistics. * Subject available as a double subject in year 1.


Three or four subjects are studied in first year. Mathematics is a required subject in first year. You make your subject choices on entry and may make changes within the first four weeks. You also have the option of taking a Critical Skills or a Data Science course in first year. In second year, you have the option of taking an Elective Stream, from across the university, which may be taken outside your chosen subject(s).
