Leveraging Goodwill | HARBISON THEATRE AT MTC

> In the 2016 -17 season, HT@MTC partnered with the South Carolina Autism Society, Columbia College, and Parsons Dance to expand dance opportunities for dancers along the autism spectrum. The effort included a professional development workshop for dance educators; three workshops for dancers along the spectrum; and a relaxed, sensory-friendly performance with the world-renowned dance troupe Parsons Dance. The effort was funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the South Carolina Arts Commission.

> Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College was named the “Nonprofit Organization of the Year” by the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce. The “Nonprofit Organization of the Year” award recognizes an entity that has contributed to the Greater Irmo community through service and education and has filled the needs of the local citizens by continually working to keep Irmo moving in a positive direction.
