LET’S PLAY PICKLEBALL!
Tune in to Pickled (Nov. 17 on CBS) for a tournament of stars hosted and created by pickleball fan Stephen Colbert. Competitors in- cluding Jimmie Allen, Will Ferrell, Murray Bartlett, Dierks Bentley, Jaime Camil, Max Greenfield, Luis Guzman, Phil Keoghan, Daniel Dae Kim, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tig Notaro, June Diane Raphael, Kelly Rowland, Paul Scheer, Aisha Tyler and Emma Watson will vie for the coveted Colbert Cup. The late-night host will open the tournament by singing the national anthem with Kenny Loggins, and the special will raise funds for Comic Relief US. Parade caught up with country singer Jimmie Allen, who first
played pickleball with fellow musicians Kane Brown and Brian O’Connell. “I love the fast pace of the game,” he said, although he admitted his playing style could improve: “My pickleball nickname would be ‘Mr. Inconsistent.’” Who would he love to play against? “I wanna play Kevin Hart. If he sees this, let’s go!” As for faux pas on the court, he says, “I haven’t played enough for embarrassing moments, but I do believe they are in my near future.” Possibly on Pickled!
