AS YOUR MEMBERSHIP ORGANISATION GROWS, HERE’S A CHANCE FOR YOU TO GET INVOLVED IN DEVELOPING AN EXCITING NEW SET WEBSITE
As another membership year comes to an end, it’s a good time to reflect on the past year, during which many more people joined SET to become part of our growing community of professional practice. In particular, we have seen a wave of people and organisations championing professionalism: with more students joining during their qualification; a greater number of organisations looking to fund their staff memberships; and more members undertaking Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) and Advanced Teacher Status (ATS). As SET has grown, members have had
more opportunities to give feedback. We have increased the size of our Practitioner Advisory Group (PAG), have more members on our Board, and we had the biggest response on record to our SET membership survey. The SET Local Network Groups (LNGs)
have grown in popularity, with members setting up new groups in their area to help practitioners connect with one another. We’ve seen fully booked LNG events across the country. We hosted our second Annual
Conference in November and, due to popular demand, we are delighted to welcome Geoff Petty and Sarah Simons back to this year’s Conference, Learning for Today and Tomorrow, on 4 November. We can see from your feedback that

you value these opportunities highly, so we are working hard to bring you more events like these, both face-to-face and online. As well as our own events, we are always looking for ways to support other people and organisations across the sector. This year, we are again sponsoring #FEResearchMeets. We also know that many members pursue professional and career development in their free time, juggling that with a busy work schedule. In the coming year we are looking at ways we can help with this. As part of this work we are undertaking a digital transformation project, to provide you with an exciting new website and improve your online experience and access to courses, resources and communities. We are inviting all SET members to get involved and join a SET website survey group (see link below). We have an exciting year ahead, so do
make sure you renew your membership, and keep connected with the community of practitioners working to improve teaching and learning.
