solutions can be the use of secondary steam or the coupling of thermal systems (e.g. via heat exchanger stations or heat pumps) or the coupling with refrigeration systems (e.g. use of adsorption cooling).
MIYAWAKI recommends, in addition to the regular semi-annual inspection of the steam traps, the establishment of a dedicated system management, which has the task of continous optimization of the steam network. Such a management can be set up internally, with appropriate specialists for the analysis and optimization of the steam system, or be outsourced to external partners. We will be happy to assist you as a competent partner on your side.
The MIYAWAKI Network Management approach consists of 4 phases. Refined by more than 90 years of experience in the steam industry, MIYAWAKI has established dedicted staff to execute on site surveys and support our clients during the full cycle of the steam network optimization.
Steam trap analysis with Dr. Trap MIYAWAKI developend an analysis tools, specifically designed to measure and jugde steam traps. Our own network audit uses
Dr. Trap for the steam trap survey. In addition to steam traps, the tool also manages supplementary installations like Bypass installations and up/downstream valves in one solution.
The software not only manages all existing steam traps, it also provides comprehensive reporting tools that can be used to create informative reports on steam trap quality, the overall situation of the steam network and performance over time. Among other
things, evaluations can be made on different types of steam traps, on the failure codes, the total amount of steam loss or the monetary loss. To structure reports, the software offers to
structure results based on defined areas or applications, so that isolated aspects can be individually observed and analyzed. All audit results are saved in one database. Based on that history the development and improvement over time can easily be shown and used for management reports. Any parameters, such as trap type, installation location or application can be individually created and thus adapted to the needs of each company. The database currently contains more than 6.000 different steam traps from a wide range of manufacturers. Any trap that may be missing can be added to the database and thus be integrated into the analysis in a simple and uncomplicated way.
MIYAWAKI offers you various options to support you in the development of your own steam system management. Contact your local MIYAWAKI representative or any company within our group to learn more about steam network improvement.
