cantered down the center line to start this year’s Dutta Corp Fair Hill International CCI3*/USEF National Event- ing Championship, and 32 completed the event. Lead-
ing the division from start to fi nish was Califor- nian Frankie T ieriot Stutes riding Chatwin. T e pair scored a 27.3 in dressage and jumped clean throughout the weekend to remain in the top spot. T e CCI2* standings shifted greatly throughout the competition, with U.S. Olympian Boyd Mar- tin taking the 2* Eventing National Champion honors with On Cue. T e pair fi nished the com- petition on the dressage score of 23.7. Maryland-bred Olney Uncle Sam, ridden by
Virginian Emily Beshear, moved up the standings each day with clean cross-country and show jump rounds to fi nish in thr reserve champion spot of the CCI2*/championships. Owned by Jennifer Eisenbrandt of Cockeysville, the 2007 Trakehner gelding and Beshear fi nished the competition on their dressage score of 26.8. Sandy Spring young rider Ryan Keefe jumped
around her fi rst FHI CCI2* to fi nish as the top- placing Marylander. Eventing is a family aff air for the Keefe family as her horse Flintstar is co- owned by her mother, Rumsey, and grandmother, Patricia Gilbert, who also happens to be FHI’s co-president. Keefe and Flintstar were on the win- ning Area II NAYC team in the CICOY2* divi- sion leading up to FHI. After scoring a 36.2 in dressage, the pair ate up the cross-country course on Saturday to move up considerably in the stand- ings. T en jumped clean again in show jumping to fi nish in 11th place. Also hailing from Maryland and completing the
CCI2* were Alexandra MacLeod and Newmarket Jack in 31st, Tayler Stewart and Ideal Contini in 34th, Hannah Hawkins and Didgeridoo in 37th and Courtney Sendak and DGE T eManInT e- Glass in 44th. T e Marylanders completing the CCI3* were
Savannah Fulton and Ema Klugman. Fulton and Captain Jack jumped clean with some time faults in both cross-country and show jumping to fi nish in 25th place. Klugman and Bendigo jumped clean with time on cross-country but dropped two rails in show jumping and fi nished in 29th place.

The Chincoteague Pony Drill Team performed on Saturday and Sunday
The Maryland-bred Olney Uncle Sam, owned by Marylander Jen- nifer Eisenbrandt and ridden by Emily Bes- hear (VA), fi nished in the reserve champion spot in the CCI2*.
Young rider Ryan Keefe was the highest placing Marylander in the CCI2* riding Flintstar to 11th place.
