Cleveland, Ohio-based OnShift announced a new financial wellness software aiming to help employees better manage expenses. OnShift Wallet, a mobile app powered by PayActiv, will provide employees conve- nient access to their earned, but unpaid wages. The app is available on iTunes and Google Play.


New Perspective Senior Living, based in Minneapolis, Minn., announced the open- ing of its New Perspective—West Fargo community, its first community in North Dakota. The community features 131 apart- ments including 83 for independent living and assisted living. A memory care neigh- borhood, which opened in May this year, also accommodates up to 48 residents.


Lancaster Pollard, based in Columbus, Ohio, was acquired by ORIX, a division of an international financial services group, ORIX Corporation. Lancaster Pollard will continue to operate with their current management as a new, separate subsidiary of ORIX.


Towson, Md.-based Remedi SeniorCare recently opened a new pharmacy in Char- lotte, N.C. The company supports more than 55,000 residents across 30 states and the Dis- trict of Columbia.


Surpass Senior Living, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, has expanded their portfolio of communities to include Mariposa Point of Mesa, planned for an October 2017 opening. The assisted living with memory care community features 120 residences and is located in Mesa, Ariz. The compa- ny also announced a partnership with En- voy America, a national ridesharing service for seniors, to support its already existing transportation services for residents. The program is being piloted at three commu- nities including Mariposa Point of Gilbert, in Gilbert, Ariz., Mariposa Point of Surprise, in Surprise, Ariz., and the Heritage at Twin Creeks in Allen, Texas.


Solvere Senior Living, based in Princeton, N.J., announced it will be expanding in Florida, Texas, and Virginia and will be providing management services to five new

communities. Scheduled for completion in early 2018, Tessera of Brandon will be opening in Brandon, Fla. Tessera of Westchase in Westchase, Fla., has broken ground and is slated to open in late 2018. The community will offer assisted living and memory care. Now under construc- tion, The Villages of Windcrest in Freder- icksburg, Texas is planned for a late 2018 opening and will also provide assisted liv- ing and memory care. Additionally, Solvere is scheduled to assume management of the Cadence at the Glen, an independent living community in Glen Allen, Va., as well as an additional independent living commu- nity in Williamsburg, Va., in fall 2017.


McLean, Va.-based Sunrise Senior Living in- troduced Sunrise Villa this summer, a new brand extension focused on personal health and wellness goals for residents. The new brand will include seven of Sunrise’s newest acquisitions in California, which will offer assisted living services and care for those in earlier stages of memory loss. One Sunrise Villa community in San Ramon, Calif., will also offer independent living.


studioSIX5S, headquartered in Austin, Texas, served as the interior design firm for The Ridge, a new senior living community in Salt Lake City, Utah. The community features natural materials such as stone and wood features, as well as earthy tones and asymmetry inspired by the topography and local landscape.


Tutera Senior Living & Health Care, based in Kansas City, Mo., broke ground on its Northland Rehabilitation & Health Care Cen- ter also located in Kansas City. The project will feature 60 private suites for post-surgi- cal, skilled nursing rehabilitation, and well- ness services.

Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), headquartered in Vero Beach, Fla., was recognized with Best of the Best awards from Florida Argentum in August. Two of HRA’s associates received individual


awards: Kristen Dalrick, executive director at HarborChase of Palm Harbor (Executive Director of the Year Award) and Ursula Szekely, director of life enrichment from HarborChase of Sarasota (Creative Life Di- rector of the Year Award).


Irvine, Calif.-based HCP, Inc. announced changes to its organizational structure and new appointments to its executive leader- ship team. Tom Klaritch has been promoted to chief operating officer and will oversee HCP’s office platform. He has worked for HCP for 18 years and has 34 years of oper- ational and financial management experi- ence. Additionally, Doug Pasquale will serve as a senior advisor to the executive team. Pasquale previously worked as chairman and chief executive officer of Nationwide Health Properties, Inc., and as chief exec- utive officer of Atria Senior Living Group and its predecessor company, ARV Assisted Living, Inc.

MatrixCare, based in Bloomington, Minn., announced the appoint- ment of Larry Wolf as chief transformation of- ficer, a newly created role in the company. He


will help communicate MatrixCare’s value proposition to customers and will work with leadership to ensure the company continues to grow in its solutions offerings. In the past, Wolf has served in a number of leadership roles at Kindred Healthcare, including as chief information officer for emerging markets.


Chicago, Ill.-based Senior Lifestyle Corp. announced the appointment of co-chief operating officers: Justin Robins, the com- pany’s interim chief operating officer and Jim Pusateri, who most recently worked for Brookdale Senior Living. Robins has served with Senior Lifestyle for 21 years, starting as an intern with the company during high school. Pusateri is a veteran executive in the industry. Additionally, the company announced that Paula Adams has been promoted to chief clinical officer and Hollie Kemp has been appointed as vice president of resident experience.
