Founded in 1912, the Institut de Touraine teaches French language and culture to more than 2,000 students a year from all around the world. There are intensive courses, private lessons, courses for school groups and specialist courses for people working in all sorts of fields: legal, medical, military, business, diplomatic, gastronomy, fashion, tourism… Accommodation is with host families or in apartments, hotels or student dormitories. Founded and directed by Annie Trégouët, ILSO is a small, family-run institute that has been hosting week and weekend home-stays for adults since 2014. Language learning in the mornings is combined with cultural visits in the afternoon, and social outings in the evening.
Guests either stay in a 19th- century townhouse in the heart of Saint-Omer, or in local hotels and gîtes. In 2022, ILSO is expanding to offer GCSE, AS, A-Level, Leaving Cert, and IB preparation courses during half-term holidays.
