DID YOU KNOW? Drawing raffle prizes

There are no set rules about the order in which PTAs should draw raffle tickets. Societies must be transparent with players about any lottery (including raffles) they are participating in. You should include legal requirements such as the draw date along with information on how the raffle works, how to claim a prize, rules, and terms and conditions. It may be helpful for PTAs to specify the order in which prizes will be drawn at this time.

We have two separate pots to draw from – one for prizes and one for winners. The order is completely random and it doesn’t matter which prize was sourced first or last, or what the value is.

Cecilia Medyna-Smith

We arrange our prizes in a list and draw the cheapest at the beginning, working towards the most expensive at the end. Only the PTA knows the order and we announce the prizes as we do the draw. Heather Mooney

MATCH OF THE DAY Back of the net!

If you’re looking for a profitable event that has a positive impact on the pupils and requires minimal effort from staff and parents, ProStrike’s Sponsored Football Fun Day could be the answer. ProStrike’s football speed

We let people pick what they want. In our raffle, we had 11 hampers of toys, food and various items along with loads of vouchers for things like

days out, haircuts and beauty salons. If you specify what people win, things can get

wasted because people don’t want to go to a particular attraction or they don’t use beauty salons. Amanda Sutton

challenge is a fun and inclusive activity for kids of all ages and abilities. Using inflatable goals equipped with integrated speed radar, children can challenge themselves to improve their top speed and score goals. The recorded speed is displayed on a screen for everyone to see, making it a friendly and enjoyable competition, even for those who are not big football fans. Children ask for sponsorship

from friends and family but even those without sponsorship can participate, and everyone receives a certificate. After the event, pupils receive prizes for their fundraising efforts.

Once the school has created a

timetable, the ProStrike events team delivers the entire event, leaving staff free to spend time with the children – they can even compete! Malwina Le Voi from Kings

Heath Academy says: ‘The ProStrike team provided a fantastic opportunity for our pupils. Their organisation and positive approach enabled us to get through the day quickly and smoothly. ProStrike were quick and flexible with timings and accommodated unexpected changes. Children were shown what to do and they really enjoyed the healthy competition. Everyone from ProStrike was friendly and approachable, which created a positive experience. I could not recommend them highly enough; I would definitely invite them to our school again.’ prostrikeevents.co.uk
