We’re thinking big for summer, with a cover story that explores how you can create a fundraising campaign to deliver flagship facilities, such as a MUGA or new science centre. As our case study illustrates, developing a portfolio of income- generation activities over the long term will make all the difference. This issue is also packed with ideas on how
to fund exciting STEM opportunities to help prepare your pupils for a fast-changing workplace and world. I hope you’ll find our features on how to win grants for STEM and how to build partnerships with STEM industries inspiring. Another strand running through our pages is how much schools can gain from working closely with their PTA or Parents’ Association (PA). AMANDA BURGESS is community liaison and income generating manager at Priory School,
Lewes. She worked for 25 years in the voluntary sector, gaining much of her fundraising experience in her last role as a project manager.
EMMA STYLES is head of development at Colyton Grammar School. She
previously worked at the University of Exeter as a fundraising officer for its Medical School, focusing on Trust and Foundation support for a wide range of projects in academic research.
JAS CHHOKAR is society manager at Reading School. Her role involves building relationships
and creating opportunities that benefit both students and the wider community.
