With the school year winding down, we’ve profiled grants with ongoing or autumn deadlines so that you can schedule in some time to get your application process under way. Grants are subject to review, so always check on the FundEd grants database.

Grants are available to support young people, particularly those from disadvantaged or low-income backgrounds, in fulfilling their potential. Educational establishments in 14 inner London boroughs can apply and projects must fall within one of the funder’s six priorities which include truancy, exclusion and behaviour management and widening access and participation in Further and Higher Education. UK-German Connection
Up to £10,000 31 October, then 31 January and 31 May
A Flexible Funding grant stream is one of four grant opportunities. Grants are for joint activities and projects between UK and German partner schools and youth groups, including visits or virtual activities. Up to 75% of your project costs can be applied for. Once a year, from the end of April, up to £1,000 can be applied for to help keep existing school partnerships alive. Download the application at

Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust
Local grants of up to £2,500
15 September 2023
Children from communities in Wales suffering discrimination or disadvantage can benefit from funding. Favoured projects must fall into one of the following categories: arts, community, sport and the environment. They should promote education, history, language, culture, music and folklore. Youth Music
£2,000 to £30,000
23 June 2023, then again in October (date tbc)
Organisations in England can apply to the Trailblazer Fund to run projects for children and young people to make, learn and earn in music. Projects need to deliver something new or different, and must not be part of a school’s statutory responsibility. At least 10 per cent match funding is required. The Clothworkers’ Foundation
Small grants up to £10,000 and main grants over £10,000
Ongoing. Allow eight weeks for a decision regarding small grants, and six months for larger grants
Alpkit Foundation
£50 to £500
Ongoing. Trustees meet every two months, so allow at least three months for a decision
Special schools can apply to the foundation for funding via the Open Grants Programme. These are capital grants for purchase, construction, renovation or refurbishment of buildings; fittings, fixtures and equipment, and vehicles such as minibuses. The value of the grant awarded will depend on a number of factors including the size of your organisation and the cost and scale of your capital project. Take the eligibility quiz at

Grants are available to support projects that improve education, environment, diversity, mental health and participation in the outdoors. This can include DofE and Forest School initiatives. Projects should encourage responsible outdoor activity, have long-lasting benefits, introduce new people to getting outdoors and demonstrate value for money. Apply online at
