The Royal Society Value: Up to £3,000 Deadline: The next round of applications opens in spring 2022 Details: In addition to its established Partnership Grants scheme, The Royal Society is offering grants of up to £3,000 through its Tomorrow’s climate scientists scheme. The programme aims to give students across the UK not just a voice, but an opportunity to take action to address climate and biodiversity issues. Funding is awarded to schools to run investigative STEM projects, in partnership with STEM professionals from academia or industry. Applications are made online at

Schools in Scotland can apply for funding to help enable sporting activities which benefit a range of participants from the local community. Funding can be used for staff costs, facilities, equipment or resources. The fund is available in different regions at different times throughout the year. Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies
£100 to £500 1 May 2022
If your school is developing new courses in Greek, or needs a financial boost for books or teaching materials, the society has a schools grant that is available for applications twice a year. Funding requests for holding Classics days or putting on Greek plays will also be considered. To apply, download the application form and submit it by email. Details can be found at

Turing Scheme An allowance for organisational support, cost of living and travel

The Turing Scheme opened in 2021, and has since had its funding assured for a further three years. Grants are available to schools so pupils can have the opportunity to learn abroad. For pupils under 14, short-term placements of less than two months can be funded. For older students, funding can be obtained for long-term placements lasting up to six months. The Queen’s Club Foundation
£500 to £3,000 Spring 2022, exact date TBC
The Foundation will award funding to organisations in England and Wales to widen community participation in healthy recreation, particularly in the sports of lawn tennis, rackets, real tennis and squash. This enables schools to apply for funding to kickstart new programmes, cover coach and court costs, purchase equipment to enable activities, or provide reward materials such as badges and certificates. Severn Trent Community Fund
£2,000 to £10,000 for schools, more for charities
Ongoing
Covering most of central England and parts of Wales, the Severn Trent Community Fund is available to schools and charities to help create better places. Projects must help people to lead a healthier life and gain new skills, help look after our natural environment or give people greater access to that environment. Projects that have a link to water or the water cycle are particularly favoured. Requests for more than £10,000 will next be reviewed in June. Register and apply online at
