MEET OUR EXPERTS Autumn 2023
When FundEd first started, one of our core aims was to help schools raise the funds to provide enrichment opportunities: the visits, workshops and trips that spark imaginations, introduce new skills and build friendships, and the events and experiences that can enable levelling up across school communities. We’ve returned to this theme in our cover story, rounding up ideas to fund or deliver enrichment, alongside inspiring case studies. The truth is, however, that schools are grappling
with the difficult reality of simply funding core activities, resources and buildings that are fit for purpose. So in our Grants section we highlight some of the funding options that can support schools in delivering literacy programmes, setting up new libraries and getting their hands on much- needed books. We also go back to basics on how schools can work

with business, alongside a profile of the Ahead Partnership, which collaborates with companies to provide training, skills and experience days for school pupils. Finally, school leadership coach Laura Williams brings some brilliant insights from SBLs on why it pays to network – both in relation to funding and self-empowerment. As ever, we’d love to hear your stories so do tell
