COMMITTEE CRUNCH

Meet ACCA’s New Events Committee Co-Chair: Kane D’Amico

behind-the-scenes work. Seeing ideas emerge during our conversations and then how they hatch into real plans is fun and rewarding.

What is the biggest benefit of serving on a committee?

The greatest benefit is the feeling of contributing to progress and giving back to the industry and ACCA, which has afforded me many opportunities.

Is the events committee looking for new members, and what kind of ACCA member would make a great member?

The events committee is always looking for new members! Ideal members are regular event attendees with fresh ideas and energy to pour into ACCA’s event planning pro- cess. We are working on ACCA 2024, which is taking place March 11 – 14, 2024 in Orlando, so it’s the perfect time for new people to get involved with the committee. or any ACCA committee, apply here: https://accanow.net/ acca-committees.

ACCA Now asked D’Amico a few questions about the value of being a member of an ACCA committee.

How long have you served on an ACCA Committee, and why did you join?

I was invited to sit in on a Partners Committee meeting in 2022 at the conference in St. Louis by a friend and ACCA board member that I had expressed interest to him in the past. I enjoyed the energy and collaboration of the group, so I volunteered to join that committee as well as the events committee when I got home.

What is the most interesting thing you have learned since serving on a committee?

Most interesting is all that the committee members and ACCA staff are doing and all of the processes and
