While you may feel that you’re at the mercy of the utility companies and that you have no control over this, there are some things that you can do to address these rising expenses.

When utility bills are paid, Boards want to watch for spikes in usage so that control- lable costs can be addressed immediately (e.g., infrastructure components are oper- ating efficiently, check plumbing and irri- gation for sprinkler leaks). Tis is a valu- able first line indicator that utilities are in the green or in the red.
