Tis has been an absolutely phenomenal year for our Chapter. From extremely informative educational luncheons to our rocking social events; we’ve really shown what kind of community our not-so-little group has.

Scotch, Cigars & Cues was an absolute suc- cess. Te new location at Corner Pocket in Cit- rus Heights, CA proved to be a perfect change of pace for our ever growing group. I’m happy to say that not only was the event bigger and better than expected but garnered even more attendance due to the size of the location (and appeal). It’s very important to point out that the more profitable these events are, the more sustainable our Chapter remains and the more scholarships we can provide to its members.

Our education grew exponentially with our Chapter’s CID Law Course, taught by Past Chapter President’s Jennifer Jacobsen and Dar- ren Bevan. CAI’s California Common In- terest Development Law course is the most comprehensive legal course available for professionals managing community associations and board members. If you manage community associations or are a board member, don’t miss the next opportunity for in-depth legal knowledge that you’ll gain from par- ticipating in this 8-hour course. Participants were provided with a comprehensive review of California and Federal laws affecting com- munity associations. Community managers also gained a greater un- derstanding of the Davis-Stirling Act, California Corporations Code and common law and specifics related to common interest develop- ments. Don’t miss this event in 2020!

Speaking of EDUCATION, I’m overwhelmed with the amount of GREAT feedback on the NorCal Legal Forum. Te theme “Up & Away: Flight 2019 with Connections to Education” really rang true with over 15 break-out sessions and topics available for anyone who is in or supports the world of HOA. At this forum, attend- ees could gain up to 7 hours of continuing education credit towards CAI Professional credential (and PCAM) re-certification. It was also a great opportunity to rub elbows with the many Business Partners who supported the event, providing information, booth goodies and raffle prizes. Not only do these Business Partners serve you daily, but they also make events like the NorCal Legal Forum possible.

Our CAI-CNC Annual Golf Tournament, held on Monday Octo- ber 14th

, is one of the many social event highlights of the year. Our

flagship event, which brings folks from all over to join in on the fun, was at the Ridge Golf Course in Auburn CA. Te event never ceases to amaze with beautiful courses, amazing food and libations.

Our Business Partner’s also showed off their creative swag at their booths and many attractions. We are most fortunate to have this truly fun event to blow off some steam, enjoy time with our CAI- CNC friends and raise money for a good cause! Education!

Up and Coming Attractions:

November holds our biggest luncheon of the year, the Annual Legal Update. Please take this opportunity to invite first time Home- owner Volunteer Leaders, Managers, Man- agement Staff and new Business Partners. Everyone will benefit from the information provided at this luncheon by our incredible panel of industry attorneys and professionals. Please keep in mind that our Annual Member Meeting will be held the same day and at the same location, scheduled for 2-2:30pm. I en- courage any/all to join us and feel free to let us know if you have any suggestions, comments, concerns or support to give. We have a special section for open forum should you want to provide some feedback.

Te much anticipated GALA is almost upon us. I know you’ve been planning your fabulous outfits - that means you too, gentlemen! La- dies and gents alike attend this event in full festive garb and enjoy the many amenities at the Tunder Valley Casino & Resort in Lin- coln CA. Come one, Come all Tursday December 5th

from 6pm

– 10pm. Rooms are available should you want to stay safe and en- joying the night until the end. Tis event offers a wonderful oppor- tunity to come together in a more formal setting and celebrate our collective and individual successes. On that note, please start to think about the many committee volunteers who deserve to be recognized for all they contribute to our Chapter. Nominations will be open soon – please nominate someone who deserves to be recognized for all they do behind the scenes!

Last but not least, a very special thanks to the Chapter’s Mem- bership Committee. Today, we have over 350 members! A new record for our not-so-little Chapter. From the Ambassador Pro- gram, which welcomes and guide’s new members at our luncheons - to the Annual “Tis is how we bowl” event - the Membership Committee has really shown their true dedication and persever- ance in helping our members see what makes our Chapter so spe- cial…Our Community!

My best to you all,

Christina ‘Tina’ Keele, CIRMS Chapter President
