With Ryanair now flying nonstop from London Stansted to Klagen- furt on Mondays and Fridays, one of the sunniest places in the Alps is less than two hours away from the UK. Carinthia sits in the Eastern Alps
and shares a border with Italy and Slovenia. Te province is known for its picturesque landscapes and more than 200 lakes, setting the stage for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and an extensive array of watersports. But that’s just part of its appeal. Carinthia is also well-known for its slow food scene and Medi- terranean vibe. Leave
your busy
everyday life behind and embrace the locals’ joie de vivre.

Try the new Flow Country Trail in Bad Kleinkirchheim, the longest of its kind in Austria (almost 10 miles in total). And if you’d rather e-bike, the beautiful Drau Cycle Path has count- less viewpoints, restaurants and rental stations along the way.

a refreshing swim, or dine on the water at Lake Millstätter See. Want to take paddling to the next level? Carinthia’s longest river, the Drau, winds its way through the province, inviting visitors to explore it by kayak, canoe or paddleboard along the Drau Paddle Route.
Slow food and regional cuisine Finally, let’s talk about food! Carin- thia is known as the heart of the Slow Food Movement. Its tradi- tional recipes have been passed on from generation to generation for decades and the many family-run restaurants invite you to sample them all. With most of the ingredi- ents seasonal and sourced locally, Carinthia’s signature dishes are not only tasty and healthy but come with a reduced carbon-footprint, too. Regional
food artisans are happy
to show you the magic behind the scenes. And if you’re looking for a more hands-on experience, try a bread baking, beer making or herb tasting workshop.
