Nestled behind the bustling community of Ladbroke Grove and situated in the heart of North Kensington, thriving St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College provides an enriching and transformative learning experience for 16-19-year-old students

With the college’s comprehen- sive curriculum, students can follow pathways from foundation learning to Level 3 Vocational and A-level study, tailoring a personal programme of study, designed to foster growth and academic success underpinned by Catholic values, which are central to the college’s inclusive ethos. Te college has seen a signifi-

cant rise in its quality of teaching, learning, assessment and outcomes since the arrival of new principal, Martin Twist, in 2019, who’s vision of the sixth form is centred on every student getting the best possible deal, making excellent progress and achieving fantastic results. Te curriculum is delivered by subject experts with an ambitious yet supportive approach to learning. One pupil stated: “What I love most about

A-level pass rates were at 97.4% and vocational programmes attained a 100% pass rate. Te college also saw 81% of its final year students enter higher education. Its emphasis on the student expe-

St Charles has adapted and moulded to the demands and challenges of online learning through coordi- nated action to mitigate its impact on young people’s education. It has continued to teach a challenging curriculum throughout the national lockdown, with 100% live lessons online. A parent said: “Tank you for all the online lessons, homework and all the hard work you’re doing to teach and care for our children.” All the students who were interviewed by Ofsted in February 2021 reported that they felt supported in their studies, enjoyed their learning and believed they were making excellent progress, in spite of the challenges of studying through a pandemic. St Charles’ impressive pastoral,

learning support and student services departments cater to its students’ needs, therefore learners feel cared for and supported to achieve their potential both

remotely and in the classroom. Careers support and guidance has also continued to ensure that 2021 leavers are guided well, with 90% of leavers expected to secure a place at their chosen universities.
