Cien Sueños Boutique Hotel MÉRIDA, MEXICO
In Mérida’s historic centre, built upon the ancient Maya city of T’ho, Cien Sueños Boutique Hotel offers a peaceful base for exploring the capital of Yucatán state. Following a careful restoration, the century-old mansion has been transformed into an intimate six-room retreat that celebrates the region’s history, architecture and craftsmanship. Inside, unusually tall ceilings and a grand
chandelier set the scene, while a hidden reception tucked behind a craft beer bar immediately disconnects you from the rush of the outside world. As you enter, the colonial house invites you to contemplate. Here, time moves slower, inspiring guests through a harmonious coexistence of the past and the present. The six individually designed rooms draw on
Yucatecan heritage from the mid-19th century to the present, blending antique family furniture with regional materials and traditional craftsmanship. Sueño Dorado retains the original mansion’s grand proportions, with six-metre-high ceilings and historic clay floors, while Sueños de Esperanza features inherited art deco wooden furniture and
sleeps up to four guests. Elsewhere, Sueño Celestial is filled with natural light; Sueño Profundo centres around a solid stone basin; Sueño de Fortaleza combines exposed stone, regional textures and an indoor garden; and Sueño de Alegría pairs antique wrought iron with colourful tiles inspired by traditional embroidery. All rooms have plush mattresses and pillows,
locally made bath amenities and 400-thread-count cotton sheets. A fully equipped kitchen serves breakfasts curated by a renowned chef and is also available to guests who wish to prepare their own meals. At the back of the property, a secluded swimming pool emerges, alongside a rooftop terrace that offers the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful colours of the Yucatecan sunsets. The hotel even produces its own award-winning craft beer in collaboration with a local brewery. The location makes it easy to explore Mérida on
foot. Plaza Grande and the city’s historic cathedral are a short walk away, while Parque Santa Lucía, known for its free Thursday-night serenata concerts, is a two-minute walk from the hotel.
