On the Barú Peninsula, where dry tropical forest meets the Caribbean Sea, Hotel Las Islas offers a secluded base for exploring one of Colombia’s most beautiful stretches of coastline. The property has 65 bungalows, designed to
sit lightly within their surroundings. Treetop bungalows are raised between eight and 12 metres above the forest floor, with private hot tubs and views across the canopy or Caribbean Sea. By the shore, beachfront bungalows look directly onto the water and have their own saltwater infinity pools. A five-minute boat ride takes guests to Isleta,
the hotel’s private island. There are 10 rooms and bungalows, each with a private pool, steps away from a secluded beach with beach bar. The island is also home to Sabai Sabai, an authentic Thai dining experience in an unexpected Caribbean setting. Back on the main property, dining is shaped by the landscape. Breakfast is served over the water at
Tía Coco, while Choco offers relaxed lunches on the private beach. In the evening, guests can head to the elegant Las Guacas. Days can be as active or unhurried as guests
choose. Kayaks and paddleboards offer a way to explore the coastline and mangrove forests, while the hotel’s certified dive centre runs trips into the surrounding marine park. Other experiences range from e-foiling and snorkelling to swimming among bioluminescent plankton on moonless nights. At Niña Daniela Spa, treatments include hot-stone therapy, lymphatic drainage and Tibetan singing bowl sessions, alongside a sauna, hot tub and Turkish bath. Sustainability is central to the hotel’s
