The consultants Skin55’s consultants hold or have held an NHS consultant post and are on the GMC Specialist Register in dermatology or an appropriate speci- ality, such as maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, allergy, gynaecology and psychiatry, in order to meet the complex needs of their patients. Tese dermatologists have a range of sub-speciality expertise and Skin55’s bookings team are on hand to ensure you see the specialist most relevant to your needs, be it an expert in skin cancer, acne, allergic contact derma- titis, urticaria, mole mapping, Mohs surgery, laser dermatology, eczema, psoriasis or complex skin diseases.


Paediatric dermatology Many of Skin55’s consultants will see children, and the clinic has dedi- cated paediatric dermatologists. Skin55’s CQC registration allows it to see children from newborn babies upwards. Babies and young children will typically have eczema, cradle cap, birthmarks or related problems that can be diagnosed and treated in the clinic. Skin55’s nurses can perform and teach wet wrapping for children. Te clinic can also perform paediatric dermatological surgery mole removal, port-wine stain treatment and birth- mark treatment.


Laser dermatology With its comprehensive laser suite, and consultant-led service, Skin55 can treat a variety of skin conditions, such as port-wine stains, spider naevi, thread veins and haemangioma, using pulsed dye, Nd:YAG and IPL lasers. It has considerable expertise treating scars with Erbium Glass and CO2 lasers, and treating pigmentation and tattoos with the powerful Q-switched Nd:YAG laser.


Acne and acne scarring Skin55 uses a wide variety of treat- ments to treat acne — from standard therapies,


hormonal treatments


and retinoid treatments to chem- ical peels and lasers — depending on the patient’s needs. Once the acne is under control, it offers a comprehen- sive approach to scar treatments, via subscision, CO2 laser, Erbium Laser, TCA cross and chemical peels.


Eczema and psoriasis All of Skin55’s consultants are expe- rienced in treating eczema and psoriasis, and can help bring rapid improvements to your skin. Tey provide advanced therapies such as ultraviolet phototherapy, systemic immunosuppressants and, for those with


specialist needs, the biological therapies as required.


Scalp, hair and hair transplant With expertise in both hair and scalp disorders and hair transplantation, Skin55 can offer a comprehensive assessment for patients with hair loss. It provides a hair biopsy service, where a pathologist can provide a detailed report on the condition of your hair and scalp to help guide your treatment plan. Skin55 has facil- ities for platelet and fibrin injections into the scalp and can perform a variety of scalp treatments for severe eczema, psoriasis and inflammatory scalp diseases.


Phototherapy and photodynamic therapy Skin55 has a dedicated phototherapy suite to deliver light-based treatments for the skin. Its Ultraviolet B (UVB TLO1) cubicle is excellent for treating eczema, psoriasis and vitiligo, and is

effective at soothing itchy skin. Te clinic also offers daylight- and lamp- based photodynamic therapy for the treatment of Bowen’s disease, actinic keratosis and basal cell carcinoma.


Skin cancer and mole checks Skin55 is an expert in mole checks, mole mapping and diagnosis, and the treatment of skin cancer. It can provide urgent skin surgery on site and has several advanced dermato- logical surgeons who practice Mohs micrographic surgery. Its pathologists provide rapid and detailed analysis of skin biopsy samples. It also has close relationships with dermatologic oncologists and radiotherapists, and can obtain a full range of CT, MRI and PET/CT scans for patients who require them. Multidisciplinary working is key and Skin55 has a range of experts in


plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery and dermatological surgery.


Cosmetic treatment Skin and beauty often go hand-in- hand and the clinic can provide a comprehensive anti-ageing package.
