Learning Opportunities Abound at 59th Technical Conference & Expo in Nashville Oct. 7-10 A variety of learning opportunities
will be available to attendees of the In- vestment Casting Institute’s’ 59th Con- ference and Expo scheduled Oct. 7-10 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Con- vention Center, Nashville, TN. The technical program offers two
and a half days of presentations on the latest techniques, research and develop- ments, while the expo gives an oppor- tunity to visit one-on-one with suppliers of products and services.
The casting
contest illustrates what investment cast- ing an do and how the process can solve problems for end users and buyers of in- vestment castings. Finally, the scholar- ship presentations illustrate how students
are being attracted to the investment cast- ing process. Investment Casting Institute members and colleges and universities. Institute Executive Director Michael Perry commented, “Ideas for production improvements and research results will be among the topics to be presented at the conference. The program represents a balance of papers from investment cast- ers, universities and suppliers.” “The annual
casting contest will
provide another layer of technology and information to attendees. The contest il- lustrates the benefits of the investment casting process and recognizes casters who stretch the envelope,” Perry added.
The expo, scheduled Oct. 8-9 in con-
junction with the conference, enlarges the annual event by featuring exhibits of products and services used in the invest- ment casting process. Expo Coordinator Leland Martin in-
dicated the Nashville location is the site of the Institute’s first expo 24 years ago. “This is an investment casting event
exclusively. No other gathering will at- tract so many investment casters to one place at the same time,” he said. Several scholarships will also be
presented (see story p. 7). A detailed pro- gram, registration materials, and exhibi- tor highlights are on the following pages.
