142 Where water courses are failing to meet Good Status, measures will be taken within the Order Limits to enhance the status of the water course. Such measures will be tailored to the reason for failure of the water course to meet Good Status, and will be agreed with the relevant consenting authority


143 Measures may include:


Ensure protection of all habitats and species through careful micrositing to minimise habitats affected


Preventing the deterioration in the status of aquatic ecosystems, through careful translocation, storage and reinstatement of aquatic habitat affected by the proposed works


Careful storage of all oils and fuels in the vicinity of watercourses to minimise potential for contamination of watercourses.


144 All measures for enhancement will be undertaken within the Order Limits for the DCO. 145


The following sections outline generic method statements for wet and open cut crossings of watercourses. Specific method statements for each watercourse will be developed in consultation with the local authorities, the Internal Drainage Board and the Environment Agency.
