Newmarket Holidays has devised a royal-themed tour of the Scottish Highlands, as the King’s Coronation approaches. The seven-night Royal Caledonian itinerary starts with an overnight journey from London on the Caledonian Sleeper train and includes visits to Balmoral Castle; Crathie Kirk Church, a regular place of worship for the royal family; the seaside town of Nairn; the Victorian village of Ballater; and Inverness. Departures are available in September and October from £883, including accommodation, travel, attractions and some breakfasts and dinners.

AE Expeditions charts voyage to Greenland’s northern coast

AE Expeditions has launched an itinerary that includes the northernmost tip of Greenland. The line’s Greg Mortimer ship will depart Reykjavik on August 15 on the East Greenland Explore tour. The exact programme will depend on the weather, but the sailing aims to head north towards Kronprins Christian Land, where the expedition team will design daily activities based on the conditions and wildlife-viewing opportunities.

AE Expeditions said the location is “not frequented by expedition cruises”, supporting its claim that it “pushes the boundaries of discovery to provide unique, immersive experiences”. The cruise costs from £9,265, based on two adults sharing a Stateroom Twin room, and includes overnight accommodation prior to embarkation, all meals, drinks with dinner, all shore excursions, lectures and transfers.

Travel Corporation pair deliver 10 vehicles to Ukraine Balmoral 4 April 2023

Two tour guides from The Travel Corporation delivered a convoy of 10 four-wheel drive vehicles to Ukraine as part of a humanitarian mission. Edinburgh-based Dominic Harris, a tour director for Trafalgar Tours, set up Jeeps for Peace in February 2022 after the Russian invasion. He has been supported by Insight Vacations tour guide Tim Pendlebury, who is based in Poland. Pendlebury has also hosted Ukrainian refugees at his Polish home and has raised around £15,000 for a Polish charity supporting Ukrainian people.
