Winnie-the-Pooh drawings head to the V&A


Original drawings of Winnie-the- Pooh will go on display at London’s V&A for the first time in nearly 40 years as part of the UK’s largest exhibition about the fictional bear. The exhibition Winnie-the-Pooh:

Exploring a Classic (December 9- April 8), will reveal the creative partnership between author A.A. Milne and illustrator E.H. Shepard. It will be designed for children and adults and consider the real- life personalities and relationships that created Pooh. Next summer the V&A will open an exhibition about the clothes and possessions of artist Frida Kahlo (June 16-November 4). It will be the first exhibition to be held outside Mexico of her clothing and possessions, including


prosthetics, medicines, accessories, jewellery, photographs and letters. Other major exhibitions at the V&A include Ocean Liners: Speed & Style (February 3-June 10) which will study the design stories of great ocean liners, including the Titanic, Normandie, Queen Mary and Canberra. Fashioned From Nature (April 21-January 27, 2019) will explore the relationship between fashion and nature from 1600 to the present day.

Waddesdon weaves festive animal magic


Waddesdon Manor will feature two light-based displays inspired by real and imagined animals this festive season. ‘Electric Menagerie’ lanterns will light up the gardens and the ‘Waddesdon Imaginarium’ light and sound show will be projected onto the manor. Inside the house, there will be ‘Enchanted Menagerie’ themed rooms, with an elephant parade and trees decked with birds and mythical beasts. waddesdon.org.uk
