Since parting ways with HX Expeditions last year, Hurtigruten has continued to strengthen its brand through the remarkable growth of its Signature Voyages – premium, all- inclusive cruises designed for deeper exploration and longer stays in port. Building on this success, Hurtigruten
is looking forward to expanding its Signature Voyages with the addition of Midnatsol from summer 2026, following a full upgrade. The ship will join Trollfjord in offering enhanced Arctic and Norwegian coastal journeys, meeting the growing demand for immersive, high-quality voyages. During the summer season, Midnatsol will sail the Svalbard Line between Bergen and Longyearbyen.
NEW INITIATIVES In September 2025, Hurtigruten launched its Nordic Tours brochure, which features a curated collection of

small-group tours and self-guided packages across Norway, Finland and Iceland, allowing guests to experience the Nordic region’s natural and cultural beauty in more depth. Its touring range will continue to expand throughout 2026, something the cruise line sees as a huge growth opportunity. It has also launched its Open Village initiative along Norway’s remote coastline, offering guests the chance to experience the daily lives of three local communities – Træna, Bessaker and Sæbø. This programme promotes sustainable tourism by using smaller ships to reach lesser-visited destinations, while contributing around 250 Norwegian krone per guest per visit directly to the local economy. Instead of mass tourism, Hurtigruten champions a slower, more meaningful form of travel, one enriched with local traditions, food, music and activities, offered to its guests.
