The national dish is cou-cou and flying fish. Other great delicacies to enjoy include macaroni pie, as well as pudding and souse.
What’s
the year to see wildlife? Barbados has a large population of endangered hawksbill turtles. They’re best seen between May and October, when most nest on the west and south coasts. The island’s green monkeys can be spotted throughout the year.
Is it easy to get around? A frequent and reliable public transport system is available island-wide. Many of the buses are electric and have Wi-Fi and wheelchair facilities. Private buses, minivans and rental vehicles are also available, while for more adventurous clients, open-air Mini Mokes are an excellent way to explore the island.
