Viking to launch new ship for sailings on Brahmaputra in 2027


Viking will offer river cruises in India in late 2027 on new-build ship Viking Brahmaputra. The 80-passenger vessel is


currently under construction. It will have 40 outside staterooms and is being designed specifically for the Brahmaputra River. The ship will operate a 15-day


itinerary called Wonders of India, which will sail between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat in the northeastern state of Assam. The trip will include an eight-


day river voyage and a fully guided land programme with hotel stays in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, with options to go east or west. There will be 13 excursions included with the opportunity to visit up to 10 Unesco World Heritage Sites. Viking chairman and chief
