Seabourn and Uniworld team up for ‘industry first’
Seabourn and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises are claiming an industry first with a package that combines ocean and river cruising. The trip combines Uniworld’s
Venice and the Jewels of the Veneto cruise on La Venezia with a seven-night sailing on Seabourn Quest between Venice and Athens. There are two departures:
July 15 and August 30, 2026. The trip costs £5,849 for
bookings by September 30. The lead-in price will then be £6,499. Assets and booking incentives
are available for agents. Seabourn UK and EMEA vice-
president Lynn Narraway said: “We think this is a world first.” Chris Townson, Uniworld’s UK
and Ireland managing director, said: “We’re taking the risk and building it [to be] seamless. Feedback has been amazing.”

Star Princess prepares
to set sail in October Princess Cruises’ second Sphere Class ship, Star Princess, has completed sea trials, and is on track for its inaugural sailing from Barcelona on October 4. The 4,300-guest vessel is the second ship in the Princess fleet powered by liquefied natural gas. After the Mediterranean, its debut season will feature the Caribbean, Panama Canal and Alaska.

NCL to deploy eight vessels in Caribbean for summer 2027

Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled an expanded Caribbean and Bahamas deployment for the spring- summer 2027 season, following news of upgrades to its private island destination Great Stirrup Cay. Eight ships will be deployed in the Caribbean,
including two of the line’s newest vessels, Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Viva. Norwegian Viva will operate voyages from Miami
between April 18 and May 16, calling at Stirrup Cay and NCL’s island in Belize, Harvest Caye. From April to October, Norwegian Aqua will sail
week-long itineraries, while Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Escape will offer three to five-day sailings to the Bahamas from Miami and Orlando respectively. Norwegian Luna, Norwegian Breakaway and
Norwegian Pearl, meanwhile, will sail to Bermuda from eastern US ports between April and October.

Beginning in late 2025, Great Stirrup Cay in the
Bahamas will debut a series of improvements, including a new multi-ship pier that ensures guaranteed access to the island; a tram service; and a heated pool. Onboard experiences are also being made available on shore, including an adult-only retreat with private cabanas, and the Horizon Park family-friendly recreation area. Next summer, the Great Tides Waterpark will open
at the resort, with 19 waterslides, a 200m ‘dynamic river’ and a jet karts water track. NCL expects to welcome a million guests to Great
Stirrup Cay across 15 of its ships in 2026.

Swan Hellenic has unveiled its first cultural expedition cruises in the Asia-Pacific region. The line will operate five sailings in April and May 2026, followed by two in September. SH Minerva, which is returning to the fleet for the first time since 2022, will depart from the Solomon Islands on April 5 and visit Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan.

Cunard signs up actor Hugh
Bonneville for Caribbean sailing Cunard will host Hugh Bonneville on board Queen Elizabeth as part of the line’s Insights Programme. The actor – who played Lord Grantham in Downton Abbey and Mr Brown in the Paddington films – will talk about his career during the 12-night round-trip Eastern Caribbean voyage departing Miami on November 27. Prices start at £1,049, excluding flights.
