NEWS YOU CAN USE CRUISE

Trollfjord in northern Norway

moments with... Lynn

This week, I’m handing over the column to Marc Thompson, our Enrichment Programming Manager:

“I manage Seabourn’s onboard enrichment, which includes our multi award-winning ‘Seabourn Conversations’ programme, and I have the unique opportunity to plan the delivery of a variety of engaging live presentations and events on every ocean cruise.

We refer to our guest speakers as

‘Conversationalists’, as they often share experiences off stage, over dinner and even ashore. They include bestselling authors, heralded adventurers, renowned scientists and learned scholars.

Just a few of our upcoming guest speakers

include broadcaster Clare Balding CBE,Vera and Shetland author Ann Cleeves OBE, wine-writer Will

Lyons, and Lord Michael and Lady Sandra Howard. We also have former FBI special agent Robert K Wittman, former Nasa astronaut Winston Scott, Everest mountaineer Paul Deegan and official royal photographer Hugo Burnand. You can find out more at seabourn.com/en/gb/conversations.

Our guests love the programme. Here are just a couple of their comments. ‘I love the way the Conversationalists interact with guests both after a presentation and also whenever approached on board.’ And: ‘Often the speakers are so good that I just want it to be another sea day.’”

Look out for more updates on our Seabourn Conversations programmes. Good selling.

Hurtigruten unveils new fjord and Arctic Circle itineraries 3

Hurtigruten has unveiled three new itineraries for 2027-28, including the operator’s first ford-only route. Between April 2027 and May 2028, the voyages on Trollfjord will provide a “deeper, more flexible way” to explore the Norwegian coast, with longer stays of nine to 15 hours in lesser-visited ports such as new destinations Rosendal, Skjolden and Eidfjord. Sailing routes will also be

“adaptable” to enable captains to shift journeys in light of daily conditions to give passengers the best scenery and wildlife encounters. The Inner Fjords Explorer is

spring and autumn, with prices from £1,686 for an April 2028 departure. The Arctic Circle Explorer is an eight-day round trip from Tromso,
