NEWS YOU CAN USE CRUISE

APT & Travelmarvel create new cruises for UK and Ireland

Samantha Mayling

Sister brands APT and Travelmarvel have unveiled their 2025 European river cruise programme, which includes new Travelmarvel itineraries exclusive to the UK and Ireland markets. The launch is supported by

an early-booking offer, featuring free business-class flights, drinks packages and a deposit of £99 for premium brand Travelmarvel bookings made before April 30. The company said the UK

and Ireland-exclusive cruises have been created because the countries are among Travelmarvel’s most commercially important markets. It hopes the new sailings will

ensure agent partners have “access to maximum availability and can convert as many leads as possible”. The operator said ring-fencing

capacity from other markets means UK and Irish agents will have greater opportunities to secure clients’ first choices of dates, destinations and cabin types. Travelmarvel has also increased

capacity by extending the 2025 sailing season from March to the end of December – its longest ever.

The new itineraries from

Travelmarvel are all eight-day cruises: Highlights of the Danube, from £1,895 based on a departure of April 22; Christmas on the Danube, from £2,095; and New Year’s Eve on the Danube, from £2,095. Highlights of the Danube,

between Munich and Budapest, includes a traditional Bavarian night featuring folk music and dancing. Brad Bennetts, APT and

Travelmarvel head of sales and business development, said: “We know our partners are eager to sell more, so we are creating new cruises, exclusive to this market, maximising the volume of inventory and helping agents to close more sales than ever for the 2025 season.” aptagentclub.co.uk aptouring.co.uk

Agents’ toolkit

APT and Travelmarvel have prepared an agents’ toolkit, including a 104-page brochure, which agents can access digitally or request in print via the APT Agent Club.

Sweeping landscapes and friendly locals are ready to welcome all in eastern Canada

Your clients can be in Canada in five or six hours aboard WestJet’s new flights from Gatwick to St. John’s (May-Oct) and Halifax from Gatwick and Edinburgh (Apr-Sep). In Newfoundland and Labrador’s harbour city of St. John’s, the open ocean is waiting to be explored on a wildlife- watching cruise. Spot whales and puffins in Conception Bay or Petty Harbour and marvel at icebergs floating past Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America. Back on dry land, the winding East Coast Trail takes hikers past towering fjords, geysers and waterfalls on a journey along Canada’s coast, stopping at quaint fishing villages, home to friendly communities who love to welcome visitors.

Those looking for experiences in the great outdoors can find them across Nova Scotia, with beautiful scenery close to the vibrant capital of Halifax. Drive along the magnificent Cabot Trail, which winds through the Cape Breton Highlands offering views of the coastline, forests and nearby islands. Take in ocean vistas from the historic lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove, or explore the colourful buildings in the Unesco-listed town of Lunenberg, home to local restaurants and distilleries.
