Wizz axes Edinburgh route and switches two others to Glasgow
No-frills carrier Wizz Air is switching its Edinburgh services to Budapest and Bucharest to Glasgow – but declined to explain the switch. The Glasgow routes will start
in the same week in November that the Edinburgh services cease. There will be two flights per
week to both destinations, with single fares starting at £22. Wizz is also withdrawing a
route from Edinburgh to Gdansk in Poland, meaning the airline will no longer have any services from the Scottish capital. The airline’s exit gives rival
Ryanair a monopoly on the three
routes from Edinburgh.
