Holland America to invite 350 agents on UK ship visits
Samantha Mayling
Holland America Line will invite 350 travel agents to visit its ships on day trips during 2023 to showcase the line’s offering. The trips will showcase
Zuiderdam, Nieuw Statendam and newest vessel Rotterdam. As well as being given a full ship
tour, agents will experience one of the dining venues and be able to find out more about what the cruise line offers passengers. The visits will take place
from April to October at six UK and Ireland ports: Dover, South Queensferry (Edinburgh), Cobh, Belfast, Liverpool and Plymouth. The ship visits will be hosted
by the new dedicated UK sales and marketing team as it aims to build brand awareness of Holland America Line and develop relationships with the trade. Sales and marketing director

Karen Farndell said: “We know how important these experiences are for agents to increase brand knowledge and experience the product for themselves. “Having the new team on board
will also be a great opportunity to hear from our agent partners about how we can support sales growth.” Holland America Line is marking
its 150th anniversary during 2023 and will hold a celebration in Rotterdam on April 18. To commemorate this event, a
transatlantic crossing will retrace the first HAL sailing from New York, ending in Rotterdam in time
for the 150th celebrations.

The Northern Lights displays in the Northwest Territories are unparalleled, and a road trip takes in the best sights of both its sky and land
The Aurora Borealis dance across the sky more than 240 nights a year in the Northwest Territories. Thanks to the region’s location, clear skies and low humidity, the Northwest Territories is one of the world’s most incredible spots from which to view this natural phenomenon.
The Northern Lights are at their best and brightest in autumn and winter, and a day trip led by ‘Aurora hunters’ is a great chance to see them in all their glory. But for those who want to stay longer, recommend an overnight stay at an Aurora lodge, where they can embark on an excursion before the lights come out to play.
The Northwest Territories is made for explorers. A road trip into its vast, remote and spectacular interior is a jaw-dropping experience. Highways wind through unspoiled wilderness, from the waterfall route in the south, along the famous Dempster Highway, to the Arctic Ocean, with pine trees, mountain peaks and wildlife lining the way.
The wide roads are easy to navigate too, with picnic sites and campgrounds dotted along the routes, plus visitor information and service stations on major highways. All that’s left to do is turn the key and go.
