Icelolly.com Decided to spend today helping my good friends at Horsham vaccine centre. One jab every 12.5 seconds! I’m at the door welcoming them ‘on to the cruise ship and to book with @icelollyholiday’ – some laugh, others are confused! Very uplifting to be here. #VaccineRollOut
Low deposits: Strategy splits opinion
Story: Low deposits on high-end bookings ‘risk leaving agents exposed’ Helen Byers: Totally agree. Crazy times and some agents are still trying to buy business. We need to start showing our worth in this job. But until we all follow the same path, nothing will change. Arron Mitchell: I disagree. In a pandemic, when consumer confidence is low, low deposits are key to help stimulate the industry.

I finally got my lovely customers’ honeymoon moved again (third time) and I’m drinking to that. Can you imagine rearranging everything for your wedding three times? They’re amazing people.

The best of your letters, comments and social media this week Homeworkers: No support for us
Story: Chancellor urged to support ‘forgotten’ travel sector This article is correct in highlighting that the devolved nations have allocated funds for travel agents; however, it needs to be made clear that only travel agents with premises can access these. As homeworkers with a very viable business and no premises, we don’t qualify for the Scottish travel agent fund. Nor do we qualify for the recent discretionary fund as this omits travel agents on the basis that there is another fund. The clear assumption is that all agents have premises. Homeworkers are far down the food chain sadly. Isobel McCardie, Not Just Travel
Greece: Test requirement puts me off booking
Story: Hopes raised for holidays in Greece this summer So even if you get your two vaccine jabs, you still have to faff about getting a Covid test 72 hours before you travel? It sounds like one step forward, one step back to me. As much as I love the Greek islands, I‘m afraid this arrangement is not going to get me rushing to book a holiday. Ian Cameron
Vaccine: Odd rules Story: Minister says government has no plans for vaccine passports Why is the vaccine not mandatory for those people in the UK who are medically able to receive it? Why is having the vaccine a personal choice, but being incarcerated in an airport quarantine hotel is not? Speakthetruth
RCNs: Uncertainties
Story: Some Atol-holders ‘still awaiting airline refunds from March’ It is such a difficult situation for those with refund vouchers as everything still remains so uncertain. No one wants to feel under pressure to travel until it’s safe to do so. Patricia Bech
