Rock unveils Covid insurance for trips against FCO advice
Rock Insurance Group has updated its travel insurance policy to provide cover for customers travelling against FCO advice. Updated policies cover Covid-
related issues pre-departure and in destinations that are not on the government’s ‘safe list’. Exclusions remain for other reasons, such as natural disasters and civil unrest. Customers are covered if they
test positive for coronavirus within 14 days before their holiday, if they are hospitalised within 28 days of their holiday or if they are not allowed to board their flight as a result of a positive test or raised temperature. During a trip, customers are
covered if their hotel needs to close as a result of coronavirus, if they catch the virus while abroad and require medical treatment or if they incur additional accommodation or travel costs. Policies can be cancelled if a
client’s local area enters lockdown within 14 days of purchase. Rock said the policy aimed
to support the travel trade by bolstering consumer confidence.
