in association with
dedicated training sessions, launched our trade portal, diversified our offering, added more than 1,200 hotels to our portfolio, launched new routes and increased our network for holidaymakers across the UK. We’ve also become industry leaders in customer flexibility with the launch of our ‘protection promise’ and flexible booking options, when we recognised flexibility would be key in growing customer confidence. So much has happened in a short space of time but this really does feel like it’s still the beginning of a really exciting opportunity for us and our trade partners.
Q. Are you promoting any particular products and/or services at the moment? We’ve got some great-value deals for late summer sun to some fantastic hotels. We know there is pent-up demand, we see it every time restrictions change. So while it’s not quite been the summer the industry hoped for, we’re really pleased to have been getting customers away to some of our key destinations on the green and amber lists. But we’re specifically focused on summer 2022. We know there are still people who are nervous about booking holidays but with our flexible booking options our trade customers can book with the confidence that, if their plans change, they’re protected.

Q. What have been your favourite moments of previous AAAs? I’ve always loved the AAAs, especially sharing the excitement and celebration with some of the industry’s finest who are so deserving of their nominations and awards. It’s really special to recognise the hard work and dedication of so many across our industry.
Q. For those who may not have been to the AAAs before, what should they expect? A lot of people describe it as the best night in the travel industry calendar. It truly is a night to remember, with a lot of excitement and glamour. There’s always an electric atmosphere and I think, with this year being the first since 2019, it might just be the best yet.
Q. What will you be wearing on the night? It will be the first in-person awards I’ve been to in almost two years, so it’s a perfect excuse to dust off the tuxedo and dig out my bow tie.
Q. Which song will get you on the dancefloor?
A few 80s disco classics never fail to get the party started. Given it’s been so long since any of us have been to an awards do, I don’t think it will take long for the dancefloor to fill up!
