Norwegian adds 150,000 Gatwick-US summer seats

Norwegian is adding 150,000 seats on transatlantic routes from Gatwick this summer.


Ten additional weekly flights


will operate across five routes – Los Angeles, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Oakland and Boston – from March 25. The low-cost airline is also starting new routes from Gatwick to the US, with a daily service to Chicago launching on March 25 and a four-times-a-week service to Austin from March 27. Chief commercial officer Thomas Ramdahl said: “The UK continues to be the centre of our long-haul growth and this year will be our busiest yet at Gatwick with increased frequency and new routes to the US as we continue to grow the number of great-value flights to the States.”

Ryanair to axe base at Glasgow with loss of 20 winter routes


Ryanair is to slash its network from Glasgow airport next winter, reducing the number of routes from 23 to three. The surviving routes are Dublin, Krakow and Wroclaw. However, the carrier will


add 11 winter routes from Edinburgh, to Berlin, Derry, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Lisbon, Memmingen (Germany), Riga, Seville, Sofia, Stockholm Skavsta and Tallinn, taking its total to 45 destinations from the Scottish capital. Ryanair’s summer schedule
