Silver Travel Advisor plans to open first shop
Silver Travel Advisor has announced plans to open its first high street shop in December. The move comes three years
after the over-50s specialist introduced a retail homeworking model to sit alongside its online reviews platform and magazine. The store, located in Fulwood,
Sheffield, is due to open next month ahead of peaks. Set across four floors, it will focus on tailor-made holidays, cruising and touring. Silver Travel Advisor managing
director Kerry Gallagher said: “We’ve had an incredible few years, growing our homeworking team to 18, which has resulted in double-digit growth each year. “A retail presence was the
natural next step and a way to expand our network and grow our footprint.” Gallagher said there was
“potential for further expansion” next year, adding: “The key for us is choosing locations that align with our strategy and audience.” The shop will have space to host
consumer and trade initiatives. Penny Worthy, commercial and
partnerships director, said: “We want to be more than just a place for people to come and book a holiday; we want to be a part of the local community.” Silver Travel Advisor is
currently recruiting for three staff.
