APT reveals 15-day Antarctica sailing in February 2024

Josie Klein

APT will visit Antarctica for the first time with a one-off cruise in February 2024. The 15-day Antarctica Voyage

will combine three nights in Buenos Aires with a 10-night cruise to Antarctica on expedition vessel Le Boreal, with capacity for 200 passengers. In Buenos Aires, guests will

take a city tour hosted by a local guide and attend a tango show or an Argentine barbecue dinner. Passengers will then fly to

Ushuaia where they can take a tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park, before embarking on the Antarctic cruise. The sailing will include daily Zodiac expeditions to see penguin rookeries and seal colonies, the chance to spot orca, humpback and minke whales, and a visit to Deception Island. Prices for the cruise, which

departs on February 3, start from £14,570, including internal flights in South America, a private return

200Number of places available on Antarctica cruise

APT charter flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, more than 30 meals and all drinks on the cruise, a tour director and an expedition team. It is available to book now. Brad Bennetts, head of sales and

business development for APT and sister brand Travelmarvel, said: “We are already well-established in the Kimberley region, so it is very exciting to be growing this more adventurous side of our portfolio. “Antarctica is a bucket-list

expedition cruising destination and we are thrilled to be offering guests and agent partners a one-off sailing in February 2024. “With just 200 places, we

expect the cruise to sell out fast, so the trade should move quickly to secure places for their customers.” aptouring.com

Spring is here in western Canada and as the weather warms up, cherry blossom blooms and wildlife emerges from hibernation

Canada’s western provinces bloom in the spring. Vancouver’s cherry blossom covers the city and its parks, with a dedicated festival running throughout most of April. Head to picturesque Victoria on Vancouver Island; from here you can take a whale watching tour (late spring and early summer is the best time).

Simon Oram, director at The Travel Shop in Sutton Coldfield, said: “Vancouver is a great city for foodies. There’s also so much to see and do in and around Vancouver, with Stanley Park and Granville Island offering so many outdoor activities year-round.”

April is the start of Rocky Mountaineer’s new season, which runs until October. Your clients can board this iconic train for a breathtaking journey across parts of British Columbia and Alberta.

Destination Canada is partnering with Prestige Travel, Air Canada, Air Transat, Rocky Mountaineer, Destination Ontario, Via Rail and Travel Alberta to create some classic Canadian fam trips. And travel agents who have completed the Canada Travel Specialist Agent training programme to Platinum Level could be in with the chance of winning one of 20 places across four trips this year.
