Mercury Holidays launches library of social media content for agents
Mercury Holidays has launched a social media content library to help travel agents market the operator’s range of escorted tours. The operator already offers
fresh content each day on its Mercury Agents Facebook page and now the new tool features posts for all of its escorted tours. It has also launched an
incentive to promote the library, offering agents using the new tool the chance to win a case of wine. The first agencies to win were Hays Travel in Shanklin and
Dawson & Sanderson in Blyth. Mercury Holidays chief
executive Tom Bugeja said: “We’ve written the copy and designed the creative for over 120 tours to make sharing as easy as possible.” Commercial manager Josh
Harford added: “We want to provide our agents with the best content at the touch of a button. Our escorted tour programme has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2013.”

Riviera broadens door-to-door pick-up service to Europe and worldwide tours
Riviera Travel has extended its door-to-door guest service to all escorted tours in response to positive feedback from the trade. The service, which was launched in February,
was previously offered only for river cruises and UK tours but is now available for all Europe and worldwide tour departures. The door-to-door transfer takes guests direct from their UK pick-up
point to a departure airport or airport hotel by private car. Tom Morgan (pictured), head of trade for the UK and Ireland, said:
“We’re pleased to offer further flexibility for our escorted tour guests, regardless of which destination they are heading to. We’re confident this personal touch will make guests’ time away even more memorable.” Riviera this year offers 1,300 escorted tours on 92 itineraries.

Meanwhile, construction of BHX’s new security hall continues apace, with the state-of-the-art facility on track to go live in June 2024. Before that, we have summer 2023, of course. Bookings are strong. It’s going to be busy. Customers can expect different walking routes and queuing space this summer and are advised to remember existing hand luggage rules on liquids and laptops still apply. Until next time…
