The path to Globes glory starts with you A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
I wrote last week about agents gearing up for September’s ‘mini- peaks’ and this week we look ahead to the peaks themselves as we start the ball rolling for January’s Globe Travel Awards. The launch of the Globes is always a big moment for the Travel
Weekly team, as we invite agents to put forward the brands which have gone the extra mile over the past 12 months. And this year’s launch is particularly exciting as we introduce new
awards to celebrate the supplier reps blazing a trail for their companies and reflect the growing importance of the river cruise sector to agents. As you can read in this week’s issue, nominations are now open for
travel agents to ensure their top suppliers and destination partners are featured in the shortlists when voting opens in November.
And nominations and entries are also open for our five special awards: Travel for All, Unsung
Hero, Sustainable Future, Employer of the Year and Outstanding Achievement. As you would expect, we’ve got some exciting plans underway for another spectacular Globe
Travel Awards ceremony on January 15. But regardless of the celebrities at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel, I always believe
the real stars of the show are the award winners who represent the very best of our community. The Globes shine a light on the partnerships that underpin the travel trade, and we need your assistance to ensure we can honour the best of the best when we gather in the new year.
