Tui adds Birmingham flights to The Gambia from early November
Tui is expanding its programme to The Gambia with the addition of its first direct flights from Birmingham to the capital, Banjul. From November 2, the new
weekly Monday service will fly customers to Banjul in about six hours, with prices for a package holiday from about £800. The route joins Tui’s existing
Gambia services from Gatwick and Manchester airports. Chris Logan, Tui UK
commercial director, said: “Brits are looking for winter sun that delivers great value without long flight times, and destinations like The Gambia are seeing real growth as a result. You can be on the beach in just over six hours, making it an easy alternative to traditional long-haul hotspots.”

Travelpack unveils e-brochure with first Albania programme
Juliet Dennis
Travelpack has launched its first Albania programme to tap into rising demand for the destination. The new collection will appear in a Greece &
Albania e-brochure, designed in a new “travel magazine” format with a “social media feel” that is set to be the blueprint for its future programmes. Albania has been offered by Travelpack in the past
but has not been promoted in a dedicated programme. The 32-page Albania section is available for agents to download ahead of the Greece programme. It is also the first time Greece has featured in a Travelpack brochure. The brochure features ‘from’ pricing only, without
specific departure airports, and a small selection of the three to five-star hotels. It aims to be an inspirational guide and includes features such as ‘72 hours in Tirana’, ‘Top 10 things to do’ and commonly asked questions.

Batchelor, who hosted 60 agents at a launch event, said: “The aim here is to spark interest and engagement in the destination.” She described Albania as offering “a combination of
affordability, dramatic scenery, incredible beaches and fascinating history” with modern and luxury hotels. She added: “It’s fair to say Albania is no longer
simply ‘up and coming’ – it is now very firmly on the hot list of destinations to visit.” Travelpack offers three-night packages in Tirana
from £399 per person, based on two adults sharing.
