Jet2 offers Twilight Check-in for clients flying from Glasgow
Jet2.com has expanded its Twilight Check-in services to a ninth UK base with the addition of Glasgow airport. The free service enables
holidaymakers to check in online and drop their bags off between 4.30pm and 9pm on the evening before an early-morning flight. At the airport the following
morning, customers can bypass check-in and go straight to security. Meanwhile, sister brand
Jet2holidays is offering its resort check-in service for summer 2024 at hotels in Paphos and Larnaca, Cyprus. Clients can check in their bags at the hotel on the morning of their departure, leaving them bag-free for the rest of the day.

UK specialist Luxury Cottages seeks closer ties with trade

Holiday cottages specialist Luxury Cottages is targeting increased sales through agents for clients seeking upmarket properties in the UK. The trade currently makes up less than 2% of sales
for the holiday rentals agency, which features about 350 properties in England, Scotland and Wales. It aims to have 400 cottages by the end of the year. Managing director Michelle Sephton said it was
likely that relationships with agents would be built on an individual basis and stressed the group could not offer a standard rate of commission. It started working with Travel Counsellors earlier this year. She said: “We really want to embrace the trade. My view
is there are a lot of agents that have a very loyal following and whose clients would only take advice from them.

EasyJet holidays has introduced packages to Rotterdam, featuring flights to Amsterdam Schiphol airport and a 27-minute rail connection. Prices start at £229, with stays on former liner SS Rotterdam starting at £413 for three nights’ room-only, flying from Liverpool on November 6, 2024. Commercial director Paul Bixby said: “Rotterdam has so much to offer so I’m confident it’s going to be a hit.”

Lufthansa launches ski flights from Heathrow to Austria and Germany
Lufthansa has added direct flights from Heathrow this winter to cater for Alpine winter sports travellers. Operating from December 16 to March 30, 2024, the scheduled services to Salzburg in Austria and Friedrichshafen in southern Germany provide short transfer times to Austrian, Swiss and German resorts.
